How to play

A the top of the screen there will be a title. Press the buttons to guess if the title belongs to a REAL Light Novel or if it's FAKE before the timer runs out! You have 10 seconds for each guess.

There are a bit over 200 titles currently added to the game. How many do you know?!

What’s this game?

A small, silly game I made to practice game development and familiarize myself with the Godot Engine!

Some backstory: A friend of mine came up with this concept as we would often joke about how silly sounding some of the titles of light novels, and anime/manga based on light novels, are. We played this game on parties from time to time where he would put together a list consisting of about 50 titles, some of them real and some of them completely made up, and then turned it into a contest where we would guess and see who could guess the most correct.

I put together all the titles that he’s collected so far and decided to make a digital game out of it (with his permission, of course), just for fun and practice!

What’s a Light Novel?

A (typically Japanese) popular novel generally targeting young adults. They’re commonly illustrated in a manga artstyle but, in contrast to manga comics, light novels are more text heavy with an average length of 50k words.

The plot frequently involve rom-com and isekai fantasy.
